New champions Harbour View were officially crowed while Rivoli United failed to hold Sporting Central Academy at bay losing 1-2 and joined August Town as the second relegated team in the Digicel Premier League (DPL) for the 2009/10 season.
Sporting which started the day second from bottom in the 12-team league on 40 points, two behind Rivoli United, climbed to safety into ninth spot with 43 points.
Rivoli United finished 11th on 42 points and it was actually the second time in four years that the Spanish Town-based outfit is being relegated.
National striker Devon Hodges converted a 27th minute penalty for Rivoli and they looked to be well on their way to safety but things turned in Sporting Central’s favour after Rivoli’s Owen Barker was red carded in the 33rd minute for a reckless tackle on Hughan Gray.
Young Jamoli Powell pulled Sporting Central level on the hour mark and with time running out, captain JeVaughn Watson scored his team’s most important goal in the 81st minute for a league saving victory.
It was a miserable day for Hodges who started the day as the DPL’s leading goalscorer with 17 goals and he increased his tally to 18 but he had to share the spotlight with Waterhouse’s Kevin Lamey who notched five goals in Waterhouse’s 6-1 trouncing of St Georges and finished also with 18 goals as joint top scorers.

Tivoli’s head coach Lenworth Hyde was reportedly fired from Saturday night by club chairman Edward Seaga who was not impressed by Hyde’s training methods which seemed to have made the players tired on match days and his team’s selections.
LAMEY DRILLS FIVE PAST ST GEORGES!
Meanwhile at Drewsland, veteran striker Kevin Lamey stole the show banging in five goals as Waterhouse whipped St Georges 6-1 to finish third on 60 points.

Michael Campbell gave Boys’ Town a 66th minute lead but young hot striker Dino Williams earned a share of the points for Village United in the 90th minute.
At Ferdie Neita Park, home team Portmore United which flirted with relegation were held to a 0-0 draw by Humble Lions. Portmore, the unofficial winner of the bottom group, ended seventh on 47 points in seventh spot.
Clarendon’s Humble Lions in their first season of top flight football, dropped two spots to 10th with 43 points but really played better than the table suggested. They will certainly be a force to be reckoned with next season.
